Refashioned zipper pouch with felt flowers

Sometimes we receive gifts that we know you will be using for the rest of your life. But sometimes we receive gifts that are cute at the time but then lose a bit of their shine. This was the case of the zipper pouch I'm showing you today.

It's a simple white pouch with a black zipper, and a quote written in black letters on one of the sides. I'm not sharing the quote here, but let's just say that at the time I received it, it made total sense. Once I wanted to use the pouch on a daily basis, part of the fun was partly lost and I knew I would either need to cover it or toss the pouch altogether. So...I decided to cover it.

DIY re-styled fabric tote bag

Hello, and welcome! Today I'm showing you here today how I re-styled a fabric tote bag.

While it's true I like to make my own bags (check my 20-minutes lined tote bag tutorial), I also use store bought bags once in a while. In this case. I actually received a free tote bag when I ordered some items online - but it came with the brand name in bold black letters, plus a printed design I really didn't like. But it was sturdy and perfectly sized, so I decided to give it a new look...

But first, a bit of the back story:

Upcycled/refurbished/reconstructed kitchen cart

Hello, and welcome! As you've probably noticed from the title, I'm not even sure how to name this particular project. Upcycling, painting or refurbishing furniture of any kind is not something I gravitate towards in any give day. I admire those who do, I may even pin a few inspiring photos and tutorials here and there, but I rarely say "let's upgrade this or that" or "let's paint the credenza a different color". I have many crafty endeavors, but furniture isn't one of them.

Reusable gift bag from upcyled shirts

Hello, and welcome! Christmas is almost here, and I've been busy wrapping gifts for friends and family. And because I always avoid buying any kind of wrapping supplies, I tend to get creative and make gift bags reusing or upcylcing other materials.

So today I'm showing you the reusable gift bag I made using old shirts.

Pretty in pink: upcycled gift package

Hello, and welcome to a new week. Although we are now back from vacation, I'm still half off this week since kids are starting school in just a couple of days, I'll be back to work full time next Monday and I still have a lot of things to organise.

So today I'm sharing here just a simple idea, but one of my favorites: an upcycled gift package.

Upcycled: pineapple trinket boxes

Ready for another cute upcycle? Recently we tackled the task of cleaning up my daughter's play kitchen and we found a couple of little plastic boxes. They are yellow and look like small eggs - and, as far as I recall, came inside those  Kinder Surprise chocolate eggs.

Well, we were going to toss them - but then thought better, as they can be useful to store little trinkets, from pins to rings, with a lot in between.

Upcycled: old t-shirt to headband

Remember the two old t-shirts I upcycled into gift bags? You can read all about them here. But well, there was a third t-shirt  - that I actually turned into a headband for myself.

It was a very quick process (so quick I forgot to take pictures of all the steps), but it any case it's fairly easy to replicate.

Upcycled: t-shirts to gift bags

Hello, and welcome! Today I'm sharing another upcycling project. If you've been visiting a while you already know I love creating eco-friendly gift packages. So when my son discarded two t-shirts that didn't fit anymore, I decided to use them to make gift bags.

Upcycled: water container to wrapping paper storage

Hello, and welcome. I've been on an upcycling trend lately and since my stash of wrapping paper and self adhesive paper needed new storage, I decided to make one out of a large water container.

Upcycled cereal box to elegant gift bag using decorated paper

If you've been visiting a while you already know I love to turn small boxes (cereal boxes are the best for this) into gift bags. I've done it with self adhesive paper, vintage wall paper and fabric. And today I'm going to show you how to do it with decorated or scrapbook paper.

Upcycled gift bag

Remember the gift bags I created some time ago from vintage wallpaper (here)? And the cereal box I turned into a gift bag by covering it with fabric (here)?

Well, today I decided to mix both and made a new gift bag from a cereal box...covered in vintage wall paper.

Upcycled: fabric covered gift bag from a cereal box

Hello, and welcome! Today is Earth Day, so it's the perfect time to share a great upcycle project. Because we all use gift bags once in a while and we all have cereal boxes at home.
