Remember the gift bags I created some time ago from vintage wallpaper (here)? And the cereal box I turned into a gift bag by covering it with fabric (here)?
Well, today I decided to mix both and made a new gift bag from a cereal box...covered in vintage wall paper.
The process was basically the same I used for the fabric covered gift bag. I just glued the paper around the cereal box (the paper is thick enough to hide the images and letters in the box) and then also glued the bottom:
...and the top (edges turned inward):
And finally I added the handles (punched holes on the top side of the box and used leftover cord from another project).
Overall it takes about ten minutes to get one of these gift bags done (and that's including the time for the glue to dry), so there's no reason for me to spend money on gift bags anymore when I can easily make them with things I already have around the house (and contribute to reduce waste at the same time).
I still have more of that vintage wallpaper around (it was a huge roll), so stay tuned for more projects using it!
