Upcycled: water container to wrapping paper storage

Hello, and welcome. I've been on an upcycling trend lately and since my stash of wrapping paper and self adhesive paper needed new storage, I decided to make one out of a large water container.

I started with this 5-liter semi-round container and the first thing I did was to cut the top part:

I debated several alternatives to cover the exterior of the container, but in the end opted to use felt. I went through my felt scraps and cut a series of long rectangles. Then I rounded up one end of each of the rectangles:

The next step was to glue the felt all around, alternating the colors:

I could have left it just like that, but in the end decided to add some twine all around:

And that was it! Once the glue was dry I just placed the wrapping and self-adhesive paper rolls inside and found myself with a cute and useful new storage bucket:
