DIY reusable snack bags

Hello, and welcome! Today I'm sharing here a project that I actually completed at the beginning of September, right before school started and I had to go back to work too. It took me a while to go through all the photos I took at the time, but finally here is my tutorial on how to make reusable snack bags - in the easiest way possible, of course.

My goal for this year is to go green, and these snack bags are just perfect to help us reduce the use of plastic bags and other disposable packages.

Crochet drawstring net bags

At the beginning of the year I decided that one of my goals for 2020 was to be more eco-friendly. Since then I shared lots of posts with tutorials to make reusable items - and today I'm sharing one more: crochet drawstring net bags.

Crochet drawstring net bags

This project was actually born at the beginning of the summer, when I realised that we were still bringing home a lot of plastic bags. We use reusable shopping bags when we go to the grocery store, but when we buy fruit or produce they almost always come packaged in small semi-transparent plastic bags.

So in an attempt to eliminate the need to use those bags, I decided to create a replacement.

DIY reusable face scrubbies in a jar gift set

Hello, and welcome! Remember the kitchen towels in a jar gift set I made earlier this year? Well, now I used the same concept, but replaced the kitchen towels with a set of cute reusable face scrubbies. And the bonus? The jar itself works wonderfully to keep in the bathroom and store the clean scrubbies, so not even the package is wasted!

Want to make one too? Here's the how to:

Travel Sewing Kit DIY Pattern

Hello, and welcome! Today I'm sharing here the latest sewing pattern I added to my Etsy shop

Travel Sewing Kit DIY Pattern

This travel sewing kit came about some time ago because I felt the need to always carry with me a few sewing essentials in a lean package that would not take too much space in my purse. I made one for myself, and a few more to give as gifts, but only now rediscovered my pattern and decided to give it an upgrade to offer it on Etsy

10-minutes fall mini-pillow DIY

Hello and welcome! The week is almost over but today I'm sharing something I actually made last weekend: a fall mini pillow.

I rarely change my decor according to the seasons (except for Christmas). Time is limited and it seems that whenever I manage to finish something, the corresponding season is almost over anyway...but this pillow actually came to be as a request from my son - and those I cannot refuse!

10-minutes fall mini-pillow DIY

My son still has a host of stuffed animals in his room and decided he wanted them to have some fall decor of their own. And what better than a soft and fluffy pillow?

Fabric and size were chosen by him, I just did the cutting and sewing.

Family Time Capsule Activity - with free printable

Putting together a time capsule is the perfect activity for a rainy afternoon with the family, especially now when a lot of us are trying to spend more time at home! A time capsule is a container that you fill with present day items, such as artwork or photos, and hide to open on a later date. Ideally, pretty far into the future!

Below you’ll find a printable activity, which includes a time capsule checklist and letter to your future self template, that you can use with your kids to put together the perfect time capsule for your family. Download the full printable at the end of the post!

Sweet unicorn hoop wall art DIY

Hello, and welcome! This past weekend I decided to start working on some Christmas gifts. Inspired by a few Pinterest posts, I wanted to make some hoop wall art for one of my cousins...and in the end my daughter decided she wanted the unicorn for herself so it's now hanging in her bedroom...

Oh well, I'll think of something else to make as a gift (only because I used all the unicorn fabric I had - it was just a scrap anyway...) and I'll just give you here an idea of how I made it.

Cactus themed felt & fabric coasters

Although I love making felt coasters, this time I wanted to try something different: mix felt and fabric.

Cactus themed felt & fabric coasters

Although I do like the result, they gave me a lot of trouble (making sure the circles were well centered, the stitches were even, etc...). Here's a small tutorial in case you want to make some too.

Printable Pumpkin Carving Stencils for a Spooky Halloween

Warm sweaters and blankets, colorful leaves tumbling to the ground, pumpkin spice everything — although summer is still my favourite season, autumn is easily the coziest time of the year. And let us not forget about Halloween, the day that begins the holiday cheer as the months get colder!

However, since this year Halloween will most likely be celebrated differently due to the current world events, these pumpkin carving stencils will serve as the perfect and safe activity to do inside with family or friends.

Printable Pumpkin Carving Stencils for a Spooky Halloween

Instead of going to a Halloween party or taking the kids door to door for trick-or-treating, get together with your close friends or family and carve some pumpkins! I mean, is it even Halloween without carved pumpkins? This activity is not only fun but will also give you some classically spooky decor to spice up your home or porch with.
