This weekend, in an effort to (again) reduce my craft supplies stash, I decided to teach my daughter to make some cute key chains using bits of decorative ribbon, cotton webbing and the little pieces of hardware I had leftover from the time I used to make and sell key chains and wristlets in my Etsy shop.
In addition to (obviously!) holding your keys, these key chains also work great as bag charms or to add to zippers in pouches, jackets, etc, and therefore make lovely gifts or party treats.
They are very easy to make, you can follow the tutorial I shared here on the blog years go: Let's make a (cute) key chain. The only difference is that since I was using wider ribbons, I added stitches along the sides of the ribbon + webbing combo to make sure the edges were secured together.
They were not all in the same size because we were using leftover bits of ribbon and webbing, but they still turned out pretty cute.
Materials all came from my stash, but you can find below some of the original items I bought:

1 inch Cotton Webbing Strap |

Assorted 20 Yards Grosgrain Ribbon |
We had just enough cotton webbing to make six keychains, but my daughter loved the experience so much I may need to search my crafts closet some more to see if I can find any additional bits that can be used too.
Have fun, and happy Monday!
