5 pretty reading nook ideas

Hello, and welcome!

Over the years I've seen people installing reading nooks in a lot of different spaces, including under the stairs or even inside large closets. However, for me a reading nook needs something very important: a window close by.

It doesn't matter if all your book covers are pretty, or if the books are organized alphabetically. It doesn't matter if your colors coordinate or if you decorated it according to the latest trend.

A reading nook is a place where you can spend some time peacefully reading, meditating or just enjoying a cup of coffee or tea while taking a little break, and for that you should have as much natural light as possible.

So, with this in mind I'm sharing with you here today five ideas for a reading nook, taking into account three main principles: airy, bright and peaceful

I could have of course added more words, such as comfortable or cozy, but for me the "peaceful" really sums all that up.

So, lets see them...

In terms of layout this one is probably my favorite, and I love the pink florals adding a bit of color:

The alternative below is great if you only have a little corner in your living room or home office available. You just need to add a few bookshelves and a simple bench with a fluffy pillow.

Similar to the above, but takes up a bit more space, although it does look pretty cozy:

If you have a small room in your house, you can consider something like this, and eventually use the bench as a guest bed if size allows:

Or you can install the reading nook in your bedroom, with just a couple of tall bookshelves flanking the window and a bench below. Again, this is perfect for small spaces, although you don't have so much book storage available as in some of the other alternatives.
