I know this blog is called Keeping it Real, but more often than not I also prefer to keep things simple. And when it comes to single crochet, in my opinion simple is quite beautiful.
With this in mind, I grabbed three bits of cotton crochet yarn in three different shades of pink (leftover from my summer crochet top) and some white yarn that I had around as well, and worked on creating a very easy (but always useful) kitchen cloth.
In case you have missed it before, I love to use crochet cloths in my kitchen: they are environmentally friendly and can be easily washed and dried as many times as needed. And as I usually I have lots of cotton yarn leftovers, these are also pretty inexpensive crochet projects.
For this particular kitchen cloth I chained 45 stitches and then made the whole of it with single crochets, using each color until the end and joining it with the next one.
The thing is, when you really look at it, single crochet is a very pretty stitch. Often we spent a lot of time searching for that perfect stitch for our projects and forget the simplest things are sometimes the most beautiful ones.
