Upcycled: pineapple trinket boxes

Ready for another cute upcycle? Recently we tackled the task of cleaning up my daughter's play kitchen and we found a couple of little plastic boxes. They are yellow and look like small eggs - and, as far as I recall, came inside those  Kinder Surprise chocolate eggs.

Well, we were going to toss them - but then thought better, as they can be useful to store little trinkets, from pins to rings, with a lot in between. 

Soooo...we turned them into little pineapples. And when I say we I'm including my daughter since she did all the drawings. 

This is what we started with:

Then my daughter used a permanent marker:

And finally we cut some bits of green felt, as shown below...

...rolled them up and glued them on top of the small plastic box:
