Hello, and welcome! After the faux weave washcloth pattern I shared last week (and which was part of my Christmas self care gift basket) here is, as promised, the pattern for the square reusable face scrubbies (pattern for the round scrubbies to come soon too).
These scrubbies are approximately 8 x 8 cm and just like for the washcloth, I used a thick and soft cotton yarn and a 4 mm hook.
Here's the how to:
Row 1: chain 13. Add one single crochet on the second chain from hook and one single crochet in all the following chains until the end (12 stitches total). You can easily change the size of the scrubbies by adding more or less chains, as long as in total you always have an odd number of chains.
Row 2: chain 2 and add a single crochet in the second stitch from the previous chain (so you're leaving a gap of one stitch). Chain one, leave a gap and add a single crochet on the second chain from hook. Repeat until the end.
Row 3: similar to row 2, but you'll be adding single crochets over the "one" chains from the previous row and chaining one over the previous row's single crochets.
Rows 4 -11: same as row 3. Since different yarns yield different finished sizes, you may need to adjust the number of rows to make sure you have a square shaped scrubbie.
Row 12: chain 1 and then add one single crochet over each of the stitches (and chains) from previous row (12 stitches in total). Cut the yarn and weave in ends.
Since these scrubbies are very similar to the washcloth (except for size), you can refer to that tutorial for a more detailed photo tutorial.
Here are the finished square scrubbies together with the rest of the set:
Happy Monday!
Thank you for sharing! Merry Christmas!
