Hello, and welcome! Today I'm sharing an easy (and pretty inexpensive) gift idea that everyone will love.
I put together this self care gift basket using a lot of things I already had at home, so it was win-win all the way!
I started by making a crochet washcloth and reusable scrubbies set (two round and two square). I'll share the pattern for these over the next few days, but if crochet is not your thing you can replace them with pretty face towels, for example.
Other items I included were travel sized containers of bath and body products - the only things that were store bought in the whole set.
I repurposed this shabby chic wooden basket. I got it a while ago with some flowers inside. Of course the flowers died quickly (they always do at our house, no matter how hard I try) but I saved the basket.
I did wrap up the basket in plastic, but even that was repurposed. It actually comes from a roll of book cover plastic that I used in the past to protect my kids' school books. Since this year their school has gone completely digital there are no more books to cover and that plastic is getting a new life...
I added a bow (tied with leftover yarn from the washcloth and scrubbies) and a gift tag (also made by me - tutorial here).
And that was basically it. And because this looks great as it is, it doesn't need any more wrapping and it's ready for Christmas.
This is just my favorite kind of gift - made with love and reusing a lot of things that would otherwise be discarded!
