Easy DIY Christmas gift tags

After yesterday's upcycled felt gift bag, today I'm bringing you another easy Christmas craft: gift tags.

Easy DIY Christmas gift tags

Because this year Christmas will be mostly homemade around here, I'm trying to get a lot of the work done early. Though, really, these gift tags can be put together really quickly.

All you need are pine tree and stars cut outs (from green and yellow cardstock) some twine or yarn (leftover crochet yarn works just fine, that's what I used), glue and a hole punch.

I used my Sizzx to cut the trees and the stars, but you can always download shapes off the Internet and use them as patterns.

I punched the holes first, because I didn't want the stars on top of the trees, but you can really place them anywhere you want and then cut the holes.

Once the stars were glued in place, I just added the yarn and that was it.

  1. Hi Teresa,

What a neat and clever idea! I love the idea of making your own gift tags...and what a fun way to do that. I'm thinking this would be a fun craft project for family once we get out of Covid lockdown, which hopefully will happen one of these days before too long.

Right now hubby and I are keeping our distance from everyone because he has underlying health issues that could make Covid particularly difficult for him. One of the things I miss most about this period of time is having great nieces and great nephews over to do craft projects. I'm guessing we will be in the mood to make up for lost time once we get beyond Covid. I'm going to tuck this idea away for next year.

Love your blog post and am looking for more homemade Christmas ideas in the days and weeks to come.

I've always enjoyed homemade Christmas and try to make some of my own Christmas gifts each year.
