Pom-Pom hairclips

We had a busy weekend, not much time to finish projects. The only thing finished were the pom pom hair clips. I had actually made one a while ago but then yarn and pom pom maker were stuck in a bag in the unfinished projects pile and forgotten. Last Saturday I found the bag while browsing around my sewing closet and decided to make a pair and give them to my daughter to be finally worn. 

While making the second hair clip of the pair I took some photos to make a mini-tutorial, although there is really no difficulty in the process.

The first thing is obviously to make a pom pom. I have two pom pom makers (in different sizes) and I used the smaller one (2.5''), but if you don't have one, there are lots of tutorials online to make pom poms. It is actually a great thing to do with children and to reduce your yarn leftovers.

This pink yarn has been on my stash for a long time. It is a leftover for my high school craft projects (I'm 38, to this is telling a lot), has lived in three different houses and I always took it me when I moved. I love the color but I've always had difficulty in finding an appropriate project for it. Pom poms seem to have been the perfect solution, especially because the result is bright and perfect for the summer.

Once you've made the pom poms, use fabric glue to attach them to the hair clips.

Let the glue dry, The best way is ti keep the clip open once it dries to make sure your are gluing only the pom pom, not the clip itself.
