Sometimes you just need to take the plunge and try new things. So when a couple of our friends told us they were looking for some cool screensavers to display on their TV (a regular wall mounted TV, not one of those Samsung Frame TVs), I told them I was pretty sure I could create a few screensavers on Canva.
And that's what I did. Because, yes, creativity knows no bounds and these days technology allows us to express ourselves in a million different ways.
It took me a while to figure it out, and there are some limitations that come with the free Canva version (in particular, the fact that the longest video you can download is just 30 minutes), but I made it work. Besides, you can always put the video on a loop on YouTube, or program your TV to shutdown before the screensaver ends.
Our friends picked a series of pictures they liked, and I created a set of screensavers just for them. Some of the screensavers just keep the same images, others have a slideshow. The one I'm showing off here today is a still image of a mountain sunset (or sunrise, I guess it works both ways) and I love how all the shades of green, yellow and blue mix with the mist in the distance and create a very calm and soothing view. We don't have a wall mounted TV, but I would definitely use this in our living room.
I'll be posting a few of the screensavers on my YouTube channel (just the ones that don't include our friends' own photos), and I'll see if I can find the time to post a tutorial too one of these days.
Below you can find the first of the screensavers I curated and added to my Youtube channel.
As soon as I can find the time to upload the other screensavers to my YouTube channel I will post about them here for sure.
Have fun, and happy Thursday,
