First, a disclaimer: this is not as good as the regular oven baked chocolate cake (you can find my favorite chocolate cake recipes here and here) BUT when you have a sudden craving for cake and no time to bake it, it works just fine. It's also a cute way to serve cake to unexpected guests in a pinch, for example.
You will need:
- one large mug or bowl, microwave safe
- 1 egg
- 4 tablespoons of flour
- 2 tablespoons of powdered chocolate
- 3 tablespoons of sugar
- 4 table spoons of milk
- 1 tablespoon of melted butter or vegetable oil
- 1/4 of a teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/4 of a teaspoon of powdered cinnamon (optional)
Instructions:
Place all ingredients in the mug (no particular order is necessary).
Mix everything together (make sure there are no lumps).
Microwave for 3 minutes at 600 watts (medium to high power).
Remove carefully from the microwave, as the mug can be very hot.
Let the cake cool for a bit and eat it while still slightly warm.
