Remember the zipper pouch with a matching keychain I made last year? I still had leftover fabric so I decided to make a new set, now adding a notebook cover too.
This pouch + keychain + notebook will be a gift for a teenage girl and I think the fabric is just perfect for these warmer days.
Because yes, even if my time is limited and there are still several gifts I had to buy this month, whenever possible I like to make them myself!
The tutorials for the pouch and the keychain are available here on the blog.
You can find the zipper pouch tutorial here, and keychain tutorial here. I adapted the keychain tutorial to use fabric instead of ribbon (folding the long edges in bias tape-style before securing it to the cotton webbing).
The notebook cover was also an adaptation from my themed notebook covers tutorial to use one layer of felt and one layer of fabric instead of two layers of felt (which means it had to be sewn right sides together and then turned inside out).
In addition, instead of using a piece of elastic or ribbon sewn to the notebook cover to close it, I used elastic, yes, but a fully removable one that is joined together with a key ring + tassel (matching the ones included in the pouch and keychain). Here's how it looks (front and back):
And here's the complete set:
These sets are fairly easy to sew and make lovely gifts for girls, teens and adults. Just pick the fabric and color scheme and go from there!
