Crochet Waffle Stitch Blanket - version 2.0

After the waffle stitch blanket made with velvet yarn I shared a couple of weeks ago, I finally finished the second blanket (and there's a third one on my hook).

This version 2.0 of the blanket is slightly smaller than the other one, with simple stripes in four different colors.

This time instead of Schachenmayr velvet yarn I used Hobbii's Baby Snuggle Solid.

It's not as soft as the Luxury Velvet but it's actually easier to work with. I used the following colors:

  • Baby Duck (the soft yellow)
  • Sunshine (the bright yellow)
  • Powder Pink
  • Acquamarine

The blanket was again made using the waffle stitch and an 8 mm crochet hook (even though the yarn recommends a 6.5 mm hook).

Below you can find my waffle stitch video tutorial.

For the blanket I started with 119 chains in order to get 117 stitches in each row.

Each stripe is composed of 10 rows, which is equivalent to a height of 5 "waffle squares"

The next blanket is going to be a bit more monochromatic, and I hope to be able to share it here soon!

Thank you for stopping by, and have a great day,
