Episode 2 is about foundation chains and magic rings.
The idea for this series came to me as I started teaching my daughter to crochet and realised that there are many things that, after so many years crocheting, I just do automatically but that are not really obvious to everyone.
And because if you're just starting, you need to cover the basics first, foundation chains and magic rings seem to be one of the obvious choices, as most crochet projects start with one of them.
For now my daughter has mastered the chains already. we're still working on the magic rings.

Yes, these are perfect for beginners & very need to know! I'll be keeping up with the tutorials after this one! I know these two, and can make afghans in a few different methods, but after that I don't know anything. I remember when my Granny first taught me to make a chain. It was during a hurricane, and I made a chain that ran all through the house, then made a little blanket. It was a great way to keep me occupied with no power. All she knew how to do was make afghans in several ways, so that's why I only know those things! Thanks for sharing on Traffic Jam Weekend!
