Is your Valentine's Day going to be mostly homemade this year? Then this is perfect for you!
Make easy reusable Valentine's gift bags with this quick tutorial.
What do you need? Fabric for the bag (fabric leftovers or scraps work great), a piece of ribbon (long enough to go close the bag and tie a knot or a bow), sewing thread and some embellishments - I used iron-on fabric, buttons and bits of crochet yarn.
To make the bags check my detailed tutorial here) and if you can't (or don't want to) sew, you can always replace sewing thread with a good quality fabric glue and create a no-sew version.
For the first bag I just cut a big heart out of iron-on fabric and ironed it in place.
For the second bag I actually used self adhesive fabric instead of iron-on, but since all I had were small bits, I cut three smaller hearts instead. And then, just because I could, I added a few buttons, sewn (and then tied) with thin crochet yarn in matching colors.
And here are my two Valentine's Day gift bags together.
I may or may not sew a couple more just in case, but since they come together pretty quickly I'm not in a hurry for now.
