Hello, and welcome! Today I'm sharing one of my favorite projects: felt envelope pouches. They are very easy to make (just one long strip of felt folded to resemble an envelope and sewn in place) - but the trick is in the embellishments.
I like to make these felt pouches one of a kind. I only made two of the same once, as a request from an Etsy buyer. Other than that, I want them to be as unique as possible.
This spring felt pouch is one of my latest, and I'm in love with it.
While I was going through my felt stash last week I came across this soft green and thought it was perfect for this project.
I added a yellow and white flower, and then decided something was missing.
So along came the ladybugs.
The sides of the pouch are hand sewn with a blanket stitch in white, and the ladybug path is hand embroidered, in a way that continues from the bottom part of the pouch onto the flap, so you see it in full when the pouch is closed.
As much as I love it, this is one project I will not repeat - oh, I have lots of ideas for more felt envelope pouches, just not in these colors or with this pattern. Hopefully I'll be able to show them off here in soon.
Happy Tuesday and stay safe,
