Hello, and welcome. Today I'm going to show you the perfect spring craft - one that leaves you with a bunch of pretty flowers to use everywhere - from decorating to embellishing gift packages, and much more - and with a lot less felt scraps around.
I use a lot of felt for my crafts and I keep saving these little pieces of felt thinking that they may be useful for something in the future. Well, I decided that the future is now, so I'm creating a new section in my Etsy shop to sell felt die cuts as craft supplies.
I started this new project to tame my huge pile of felt scraps. - I have so much felt (and so little time) that it would take me years (literally) to have enough crafts of my own to use them.
We took advantage of the weekend to start cutting the felt scraps - and when I say we I mean it, because this is the kind of thing my kids love to help with.
I gave them a pile of scraps and had them organizing them by colors. And then we got down to cutting, deciding the placement of the flower layers, and gluing all the pieces in place.
For now I have the pinks/purples and the yellows/oranges/browns listed. The blues are still being glued, and the greens and reds should follow shortly too.
In the future I may create mix and match packs of these flowers, but for now my OCD is telling me I need to keep them organized by colors.
Overall, it was a fun weekend project and I hope the kids and I can have more fun with this idea soon.
Those are cute little flowers just from scrap pieces! I keep all my paper and fabric scraps that may become something one day, too. :)
ReplyDeleteI save everything but I love to discover new projects to use those scraps. Thank you for stopping by!
