Hello, and welcome. today I'm showing off a bag I made a couple of weeks ago for one of my daughter's friends.
I found the hot air balloons fabric at a craft store and knew I had to buy it. It was just a scrap (big enough for this bag and maybe another similar one) and they didn't have more, but I still brought it home with me. When a couple of days later my daughter handed me the invitation for a birthday party for a little girl turning eight, I knew I had made the right decision.
Because, yes, how cute is that fabric?
The bag is made in the exact same way as the 20-minutes lined tote bag (adjusting measurements a bit) and with an added pocket (to see how I made it you can check step one of my the little girl bag tutorial).
I also included a matching zippered pouch (tutorial here) with a key chain that can be attached to the inside of the bag.
And because I always need to add a special detail, I used a few pieces of pink lace to embellish the bag, the pocket and the zippered pouch...
These bags are very simple to make and great homemade gifts, but in this case I think the fabric steals the spotlight...
Happy Monday!
Having/finding the right fabric is so umportant for sewing pretty things! This bag is gorgeous!
