20-minutes lined tote bag

Hello, and welcome. Today I'm sharing with you a tutorial to create a simple lined tote bag that you can use around town, to go shopping or to store your to-go crafts. Twenty minutes to make and millions of places to use it.

The pattern included in this tutorial allows you to create a finished bag of about 29 x 34 centimeters. For a smaller or a larger bag adjust measurements proportionally.

Find out how to make it below:

Materials needed:
Fabric for the bag, straps and lining, plus matching sewing thread. Measurements can be found below (click on the picture for the printable version of the pattern)

Instructions:

Cut the fabric according to the pattern:

Join both bag pieces right sides together and pin in place. Sew down the sides and the bottom. Do the same with the lining. Turn bag inside out and insert lining in place:

Fold each strap piece in half over the long side, tuck the edges over inside bias tape like, ironing the folds for a neater finishing, and sew.

With the lining lining in place inside the bag (wrong sides together), fold the top edges inward and pin all around, with the straps in place (insert the straps between the lining and the bag before pinning.

  7. I just doubled the lengthen of both pieces and folded and sewed the sides. It was so quick and easy. Made for granddaughter’s 3rd birthday. She said she wanted donuts so she got a little tote bag made with pretty donut fabric. 😂😂😂 At least she’ll remember that she got what she ask for.
