When I wrap gifts I try as much as possible to use fabric bags. They are cute, ecological and the recipient can always re-use them to store other things. For these particular gifts (a set of chocolates for Easter, from a couple of weeks ago) I decided to change a bit the look of my gift bags and make them out of tulle.
Tulle gift bags turn out really nice, and there are zillions of ways to re-use them.
I'm thinning this would be a great idea to "wrap" books too, I need to give it a try next time.
This particular bag was made using my reusable gift bags tutorial, the only difference is that I ruffled the sides a bit for extra flair. As tulle doesn't fray, you don't need any special finishing on the edges either.
Once the bag is sewn (which doesn't take more than a couple of minutes), place the gifts inside and tie the ribbon.
Add a pretty gift tag and you're done!
(bottom line, if you don't want to sew, you can always use fabric glue instead - for the regular fabric bags it works perfectly, I haven't tested it's resistance with the tulle, though)
Because this was made using only materials I already had at home, it's another contribution for my 2018 destashing goal. See below my other destashing projects so far:
