(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - sail ships

There's something about sail ships - especially the large ones - that has always fascinated me. So when, a couple of weeks ago (on a rare day off without the kids) we found out that we could not only admire the ships but also visit them - well, I just had to go!

There was a bit of everything, from some of the school ships of the Portuguese navy (the most famous of which is the NRP Sagres in the photo above) to replicas of the Portuguese and Spanish sail ships that roamed the world in the 15th and 16th centuries.  They were docked, so no sails up, but still beautiful. Overall, a great day!

Happy Wednesday!
