Hello, and welcome! If you follow me on IG you've probably already seen a photo of this cake. I made it at the last minute for my daughter's 16th birthday - we spent all day out of the house and when we returned in the evening she wanted a cake (with candles to blow) just for the four of us, and I needed to whip up something quickly.
This is one of my mother's old recipes, is very quick and easy to make and always turns out well. It's an old fashioned basic cake, but sometimes the simple things are the best.
Ingredients:
- 3 eggs
- 250 grams of sugar (brown sugar works well, if you prefer)
- 250 grams of flour
- 1 cup of milk (replace with oat milk if you need a dairy free alternative)
- 125 grams of butter (or vegetable margarine)
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder
Instructions:
Mix the eggs with the sugar and the butter. Add the milk and then the flour and baking powder.
Pour into a greased cake mold and bake at 170ÂșC for approximately 30 minutes.

Enjoy, and happy Thursday,
