Hello, and welcome! Today I'm sharing here a simple and easy recipe for some delicious meatballs, which has been one of our family's favorites this winter.
Ingredients (for approximately 12-15 meatballs):
- 400 grams of ground lean beef
- 2 garlic cloves, ground or finely minced
- 1 onion, ground or finely minced
- 1 egg
- 5 table spoons of breadcrumbs (I usually buy breadcrumbs already seasoned with garlic and parsley, but if you can't get it, mix one teaspoon of powdered garlic and one teaspoon of powdered parsley or parsley flakes with your regular breadcrumbs)
- 1/2 cup of white wine (optional)
- 2 cups of tomato sauce
- two bay leaves
- 3-4 tablespoons of olive oil
- 2-3 tablespoons of flour
- 1-2 tablespoons of Provence herbs (or your favorite herb mix)
- 1 tablespoon of powdered garlic
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
In a bowl, mix the ground beef with the garlic cloves, the onion, the breadcrumbs and the egg (using your hands is the best way).
Separate small amounts of the mixture and roll them into balls. Adjust size as you prefer. Roll the meatballs in the flour:
In a large pan, heat the olive oil, add the bay leaves and then the meatballs, rolling them so that they are slightly browned all over.
Then add the white wine, pour the tomato sauce over the meatballs, sprinkle the rest of the seasoning (salt, pepper, Provence herbs and powdered garlic) and mix everything together. Lower the heat, cover the pan and let everything cook for approximately 25 minutes more.
