T-shirt yarn is not my favorite yarn to crochet with, but I have to admit it's great to make these cute storage baskets. The pattern I bring you today is the most basic of all: only one color and one stitch (double crochet) - perfect for crochet beginners, to use up yarn scraps or when you just need a quick (and useful) project.
Find out below how to make it.
To make these baskets you only need t-shirt yarn in the color of your preference (I used leftovers from an old Halloween project, hence the orange) and a crochet hook (I used and 8 mm but I have also found that not all t-shirt yarn comes in the same thickness so check your yarn to make sure which hook size is best).
Here's the pattern:
Row 4: Same as row 3. Cut the yarn and weave in ends.
If you want the base of your basket larger, just add more rows after Row 2 (taking care to make increments to keep a flat circle).
If on the other hand you want your basket sides to be higher, then keep adding rows after Row 4 until you reach the desired height.
These little baskets are very useful for organization and storage, and make great gifts too.
Have fun, and happy Tuesday!
