Spring Kitchen Towel - free crochet pattern

Hello, and welcome! Today I'm sharing here a quick & fun crochet project - very useful and just perfect for spring!

I used 100% cotton yarn in white, pink and blue - they were all leftovers from other projects; if I had green, I would have used it instead of the blue - and a 3.5 mm crochet hook.

Instructions (US crochet terms):

Row 1: (I started with the white yarn) chain 39. Start on the 3rd chain from hook and add one half double crochet over each of the remaining chains until the end (36 stitches in total).

Row 2: turn your work around, chain two and add one half double crochet over each stitch from previous row (36 stitches in total).

Rows 3 - 6: repeat row 2.

Row 7: (I changed colors to the blue yarn here) Chain 2. Skip one stitch, double crochet on the next stitch, and then add one double crochet over the stitch you first skipped (cross stitch double crochet). Repeat until the end.

Row 8: (for this row I used the pink yarn). Add one double crochet puff stitch over the center of each cross stitch from previous row, with a 1 chain in between. Here's a short video of how I did it:

Rows 9-29 (or until you achieve the desired length for your towel): (back to the white yarn) repeat row 2 (just make sure that after row 8 you return to the 36 stitches in every row).

Cut the yarn, weave in ends and you're good to go.
