The idea for this video actually started when I opened this box I brought from my mother's house:
There's a lot of cotton crochet yarn there, but most of it is thin, so I decided to double it up for the first project I'm making with it: a set of crochet dishcloths.
Each dishcloth will be a combination of white and another solid colored yarn (so far I've completed the pink one and I'm working on the blue) and each will have a unique design (patterns to be posted here soon).
And so I've created a video with my three top tips to successfully crochet with multiple yarns.
While I don't advise using a lot of strands at the same time, using two or three strands can get you some amazing results and very original projects. You can use multiple strands when you want to get rid of a series of yarn scraps like I'm dong , when you want to have the look of variegate yarn but only have solid colored yarn on your stash, or just to have fun!
If you follow the tips above you can easily crochet very original projects with multiple strands just as if you were working with a single yarn strand.
