Hello, and welcome! There's a new video in the Crochet for Absolute Beginners series up on my YouTube Channel. 

Episode 3 is about how to hold your crochet hook. 

The old pencil-style vs. knife-style debacle. 

I was taught to crochet holding the hook pencil-style and, quite frankly, for a long time I believed everyone crocheted like that. 

When I stated visiting other blogs and watching crochet videos, I suddenly realised there was a whole different way to hold your hook. 

I can crochet both ways now, though of course I crochet much faster holding the hook pencil style, just because that's what I've been mostly doing since I learned to crochet. 

In this video, I wanted to present both ways and encourage beginners to try them out and discover the alternative they feel most comfortable with.
