Hello, and welcome! Today I'm sharing here a very important project, at least from my daughter's perspective: new diapers for her baby dolls.
A while ago I wrote a doll diaper tutorial. For these new diapers I used the same pattern, but changed a few things.
The first thing I changed was the lining. The previous diapers I made had a sort of quilted fabric lining - but it was a scrap and I never bought it again, so these new diapers are lined in regular white fabric. Maybe it doesn't look so realistic but in the end it works just as well.
And then I also replaced velcro with plastic snaps - and I kind of liked this alternative much more - it's quicker and easier, and the snaps add color to the whole set (though if you're making these diapers for smaller children to play with maybe it's safer to stick to velcro).
Here's a comparison between the first diapers I made (the pink stars one on top) and the new sets:
The larger diapers were made using exactly the pattern posted here. For the smaller set of diapers I copied the pattern reducing it a bit, to adjust to small sized dolls (you can enlarge it instead for larger dolls).
Overall, I'm happy with the results - and my daughter and her dolls are as well!
These diapers are also great homemade gifts for little girls, so I'll be making more soon as a Christmas gift for our younger cousins.
Happy Tuesday!

So cute! I like the snaps, they make them look really professional.

DeleteThey look so real. I loved dolls when I was young and I still think they are special. We will feature your pattern in the next Blogger's Pit Stop.
