Doll house sized felt play food: a pizza!

During lockdown my daughter saw a lot of craft videos on how to make doll house miniatures (mostly food items and other household objects). A lot of those were made using air dry clay, but I promised her I could make at least a few using felt.

And here's the first one: a dollhouse sized pizza!

First I cut a small circle of felt and then added a border, to make the crust.

And then I used various bits of felt to imitate the look of a real pizza.

This was a great project to use up small felt scraps, and I have more similar ideas planned, so stay tuned!

In the meantime, Barbie seems happy with her pizza...

  1. I love making dollhouse minis. I've never used felt! This week it was strawberry sundaes--a pink lump from yarn glued onto a flower petal shaped bead. Then red glass stain drizzled onto it in a X pattern. Next will be a nurdle of whipped cream (white fabric puff paint), then a red cherry--red fabric paint or a red seed bead. Round bulbous earring pieces and buttons had dried pepper seeds glued on for potato chips (unless they are next to red salsa and then they are nachos!). I love my homemade air dried clay as it doesn't crack and dries in 1-2 days.

  3. Love this! I may be grown up, but if I had the space to create an awesome doll house, I definitely would.

    1. Me too! That's why I live vicariously through my kids. My son loves Legos so I can justify playing with him, and with my daughter it's everything doll related...
