I made it to Monday...healthy and safe...

...and taking into account all that is happening in the world right now, when you and your family are healthy and safely tucked at home, it's already a win.

And as we have been lucky so far, I also had time for some crafting. Not as much as I would like, but in between working from home and the kids online classes, this is as much as I can fit in.

I made it to Monday...healthy and safe...

So here’s a sneak peek of my crafting weekend:

I started several projects but managed to finish just one.

But this one is important and had to be done this week, as it will be a gift for my mother's birthday next Friday. My mom turns 88 on April 3rd and she's been literally stuck at home these past weeks as given her age she's at high risk if she catches this virus. We've even limited visits and I mostly go there to take her food, take out the trash and keep her company. It's a sad time to celebrate such a birthday and I had definitely planned to buy her a different gift, but with quarantine on and all non-essential stores closed, it's not going to happen, at least for now.

So I made her this little bag. It's a handled bag with a zipper closure and I'll post a tutorial here in the next few days.

Other than that:

I started a new crochet bag in these colors. Not sure about the combination yet, let's see how it unfolds.

I also started this crochet scrubbies and washcloths set. One washcloth is almost done (I just need to weave in ends). Crochet scrubbies under way, and then I'll make a smaller washcloth with the rest of the blue yarn. I bought this yarn on clearance before the crisis and I don't have anymore of it, so I'll just have to make the best with what's left.

And I have sewing under way for a cactus tote bag I'll show you next time. I fell in love with the fabric and I think it's going to be great for summer - hopefully we'll be able to be out and about as usual by then.

Other than my mother's bag, some of the other projects may or may not end at my Etsy shop when I manage to reopen...mostly because we have a bunch of family birthdays coming up and homemade gifts are the way to go now.

And these were the highlights of my crafty weekend. Have a great week, wherever you are. Stay safe, and don't forget to check out the other awesome Made it to Monday posts:
