Hello, and welcome. Today's post is just to show off the cake I made for my daughter's birthday at the beginning of September. Of all the cakes I've made so far, I think this was one of the easiest, but also the most successful.
Inside is a simple carrot cake with chocolate mousse filling - and yes, it was delicious. I promise to share the recipe here soon.
The "fence" was made with Kit Kat bars tied together with a ribbon (mostly to keep them from falling off).
The "soil" was made with chocolate cookie crumbs spread over the top of the cake, and the bunnies/carrots were sculpted from colored fondant.
What took me longer were the bunnies, and even those were pretty easy to make.
This is not my original idea. I usually let my kids search Pinterest for the cakes they want for their birthdays, and this was my daughter's choice. If you search Pinterest for bunny cakes you'll find several similar ones.
I made two more birthday cakes this month - a fox and an owl. I'll share those too in the next days.
Have fun, and happy Tuesday!
