Hello, and welcome! When we returned from our vacation last week I decided to go through my yarn stash, to try to get rid of a lot of leftovers from other projects. And what better things to do with small bits of cotton yarn than face scrubbies? They are useful, waste-free and make great small gifts too.
Want to make your own too? Here's the tutorial (and yes, they are very easy to make, so perfect for crochet beginners).
First, chain two over a magic ring:
Then add 11 double crochets (to get 12 stitches total). Join with a slip stitch.
Pull the loose end of the yarn to close the magic ring. I usually pull this yarn end over and add the second row stitches over it - it saves me the hassle of having to weave it in in the end.
For the second row, chain two, and then add two double crochets over each stitch from the first row. Slip stitch to join and weave in the end of the yarn.
Once you get used to the pattern, it will take you only a couple of minutes to get one scrubbie done.
I'm going to make a whole batch of these in several colours and use them as Christmas gifts. I will add a couple to my Etsy store as well sometime soon.
Happy Monday,

I love crocheted facial scrubbies! They feel excellent against the skin.

Making the scrubbies using left over yarn is a great idea. I have made some too and they look so cute.
