Crochet flower gift bag

If you've been visiting for a while you already know I love making gifts for everyone. And whenever possible I also try to make the gift packages too. So when we were invited for a birthday party last weekend, I quickly got down to work. But as I was already sewing a gift, I decided to make a crochet gift bag instead.

And as a bonus I got to use leftover yarn from the crochet owl pillow I made for my daughter several years ago - yes, that leftover yarn lived for a long time in my crafts closet, so it's great that I finally found a project I could use it for.

I didn't write down a pattern for this crochet bag, I just crocheted along. The bag itself is made with rows of double crochet, and the sides and bottom are joined together with two rows of single crochet.

Once the bag was finished I decided it needed some kind of embellishment, so I made two crochet flowers - there's one on each side of the bag.

Here's how it looks with the gift already inside:

Overall, it was a very quick project and I think that it turned out pretty well.

Happy Monday!
