This was not intended to be my first project of the year, but when I received in the mail a promotional magazine from a cosmetics store with a beautiful cover, I knew I wanted to use it in some way.
As the theme seemed to perfectly match the concept of new year goals and all that, I turned it into a piece of wall art that now graces our home office.
This is what the original magazine looked like:
Yep, too pretty to just throw in the trash. I ripped the cover off, cut it to the size I wanted and placed it in an empty frame I had around.
So, yes, my first project of 2019 turned out to be the easiest upcycle ever - which I'm hoping is a good sign.
Happy Monday!
What an excellent idea! I have been holding on an Easter gift bag because it ripped on one side, but I thought the other would make a great piece of wall art - like this!

Thank you Alexandra! I rarely have time to look through these promotional magazines, but this one really caught my attention and I think it turned out great. You should totally do something similar with your Easter bag!
DeleteI've been having a blast with frames as well.
ReplyDeleteI've held on to several older and unused frames just like this one, they are perfect for these projects.

Such a fun idea! There are some magazine photos I've just loved and never thought to do this. :)
ReplyDeleteThis was the first time I thought about it too, but that magazine cover was just too pretty to pass up.
