These mini apple croissants are made in next to nothing and are a wonderful snack or dessert, especially when you have limited time to cook.
Here's the how to:
Ingredients (for 8 mini croissants):
- 1 sheet of round puff pastry
- 2 - 3 apples (depending on size)
- 1 egg
- sugar (white or yellow, your choice)
- powdered cinnamon
First spread the puff pastry sheet and cut it in eight slices (it's a bit like slicing a pizza):
In the center of each slice place bits of apple and sprinkle them with sugar and cinnamon:
Fold the sides of each slice inward and roll it from the edge to the center - encasing the apple within and giving it a croissant-like shape (it doesn't turn exactly like a croissant because your are folding the edges inward, but it's fairly similar).
Place each finished croissant on a greased oven tray:
Whisk the egg and "paint" the top of the croissants with it:
Sprinkle with a bit more cinnamon and place in the oven for about 15 - 20 minutes, until they have acquired a lovely golden color:
I personally like to eat them still slightly warm, but you can also let them cool completely before serving, they are delicious in any way.
Eat well and enjoy spring!
That looks so delicious! Pinned.
