Hello and welcome to another installment of the DIY play food series. Today I'm showing you how to make "fried" chicken legs for your kids to play with.
Here's the tutorial:
What you need:
- the pattern - download here
- dark brown felt
- light brown felt
- matching sewing thread
- polyester filling
Instructions
- download and print the pattern.
- trace the pattern onto the felt and cut the pieces (use a pencil, chalk or disappearing ink to avoid staining the felt). If you have felt scraps, use them.
- sew each of "bone" the pieces together, adding the polyester filling as you go
- Do the same with the two "meat" pieces, leaving the smaller edge open to insert the bone
- Sew the opening, effectively joining the bone and the meat parts
Make as many as you want and pair them with any other play food of your choice.
