Oven baked cinnamon waffles

We love waffles at our house and we had a waffle maker for years. Sadly, it stopped working a couple of months ago and I decided to get a waffle mold to bake the waffles in the oven instead.

It took me a while but I finally perfected a recipe that works well. Here it is, in case you want to give it a try.

Ingredients (makes 6 waffles, which is the capacity of my waffle mold):
  • 120 grams of flour
  • 50 grams of melted butter (or margarine, if you prefer)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of powdered cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 200 ml of milk
  • 1 oven waffle mold (not exactly an ingredient, but you do need one...)

Instructions:

Mix sugar and butter together and and then add the rest of the ingredients. Pour onto the waffle mold and bake for about 15 minutes.

And you waffles are ready. Enjoy!

I'm partial to eating them still slightly warn, dusted with powdered sugar and cinnamon. My son prefers them with strawberry jam. How about you?

  4. I have never baked my own waffles but it sounds like such a great idea when you need more than 1 waffle at a time!

    1. True. At least with the mold I have, I can bake six at a time, though it may vary.

  5. I had no idea waffle molds existed! I'll have to keep an eye out. Space in our kitchen is at a premium but I might be able to find room for one :)

    1. They are great, and because they are almost flat, they don't occupy a lot of room anyway.
