(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - tree blossoms

Every summer my husband is fascinated by this tree, which he sees everyday while driving to work. He has told me repeatedly that I need to post about it here. Today I was in the car too, so he made me take a picture with my phone.

I did 't have a lot of time to frame it right (I didn't want to be late for work on account of some flowers), but the fact is that the tree is really pretty with all that dark pink around.

As far as I can see from down below, it's a bougainvillea - my grandparents used to have one just like it on their balcony (it was obviously much smaller than this one, but we still had to leave it there when we sold the house because it was too heavy to move).

Anyway, this clearly-not-wordless Wednesday is dedicated to my husband, who can finally see here the photo he's been requesting for quite some time.

Happy Wednesday,

  3. That tree is loaded with beautiful flowers, I see these in the nurseries and have wondered how they would do in the desert.

    1. As far as I know, they are fairly resilient, but I'm not sure about the desert. Then again, I tend to kill all plants that have the misfortune to be left in my care, so I'm probably not the best person to advise you on that...
Thank you for stopping by Karren, and have a wonderful weekend!
