Today I'm taking a break from crafts to bring you a very easy recipe: homemade chorizo bread. It is a tasty snack but, cut into slices and served still slightly warn from the oven, also makes a wonderful entrée.
- mix two cups of flour
- one egg
- half a cup of milk
- one tablespoon of olive oil
- 2 teaspoons of dry bread yeast
- 1 chorizo, cut into thin slices
To make the chorizo bread, pour all ingredients except the chorizo in a bowl and mix them until you get a uniform ball of dough (add a few drops of water to the mix, if needed).
Let the dough rest for half and hour, and knead it again for a minute.
Divide the dough in half. Spread and stretch each of the halves, and sprinkle them with the chorizo slices.
Roll the dough, adding more slices as you go along.
Place in a lightly greased oven tray and bake at 180ºC for about 35 minutes, or until the crust turns slightly golden.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes.
Cut into slices and serve. It's delicious!
Enjoy, and have a wonderful week!
Oh what a neat idea! :)
