This weekend my time for anything remotely crafty was sorely reduced. The only thing I did manage to finish was part 2 of the July scraps of yarn crochet along challenge posted by Joanita over at Creative Crochet Toys.
I've been mixing and matching my yarns, so some of the colors may seem a bit odd, but overall I'm happy with the results. And I'm clearly getting better at mixing different types of yarn into the same project.
Here is the rectangle...
... the square with the cross-stitched heart...
If you want to crochet along too, check out part one of the instructions here and part two here. Joanita published part three last Wednesday but I still did not have time to even look at it, though I've already printed the instructions. Hopefully this week will be quieter and will allow me enough time to finish this project within the month of July!
Enjoy,
I wish I could crochet. It seems like such an easy thing to do.. Except it's not, lol. I've tried and tried and tried I just don't understand what I'm doing wrong. I love the flowers.
ReplyDeletethese challenges are supposed to be easy, just basic stitches, you can try one someday...but I may be biased, since I learned to crochet as a child, so it comes naturally to me now...anyway, thank you for stopping by and have a great week!
DeleteHi Teresa, I love what you have created and crocheted! I invite you to share this at our Cooking and Crafting with J & J party on Mondays.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
Julie xo
thank you Julie! I had just finished linking up when I saw your comment...
DeleteSuch a great idea! So cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining Cooking and Crafting with J & J!
Thank you Jess!
DeleteI think they're really cute, and look fall-ish :) We'll all want Fall to arrive soon, if this 90+ degree weather holds on. Thanks for sharing your great post at Together on Tuesdays!
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by Lisa...though I have to disagree on the fall thing. I love summer and would have it out all year long if I could, no matter the heat...
DeleteSuper cute! Love the red stitched heart.
ReplyDeleteThank you Katie!
DeleteSo pretty!! I used to know how to crochet a lifetime ago, when I was a young girl, but have since forgotten.
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to try it out again. I had the same issue with knitting, my mother taught when I was five or six and then I never knitted again. Well, I started back this year, and though I can't remember all the complicated stitches yet, the basics came back to me in a second.
DeleteI love the colors you used! Blue, pink, and white always look good to me.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Though with scraps I can't bee too picky, I still try to match the colors the best I can.
DeleteThanks for reminding us that there's always a little time to do the things that we enjoy. I'm glad you linked up with us at the #AnythingGoes Link Party.
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by Sandy!
DeleteI just actually bought some wool to knit or crochet something. I find it very relaxing but haven't really done it for years. Thanks for sharing this with us at #WednesdaysWisdom
ReplyDeleteIt is relaxing, that's why I like it so much, even though I'm always too busy!
DeleteThese cute little items look so sweet and quick to make (love how quick crochet is!) I feel like crochet and flowers is a perfect partnership.
ReplyDeleteThank you Julie!
DeleteThese are lovely and I wish I could say I Crochet but I do not and do not think I would even have the PATIENCE to try.
ReplyDeleteIt's not too hard once you get the gist of it. Just start with something easy! Thank you for stopping by!
