No clutter in 2015: week 10 update

no clutter, decluttering

Last weekend the recycling bins near my house were very happy. Recently, our church also installed a bin to collect used clothes at the end of our street. I guess they were just thinking of me.

I mostly got rid of clothes (if I haven't used a certain pair of pants in the last three years, I'm not going to suddenly need them now, right?), old blankets (that were kept in case of emergencies or unexpected guests but then never used precisely because they were old) and a stack of boxes that came with cell phones and other small appliances and that ended up lost in the top shelf of a closet long after warranty periods have expired.

I also finished several recycling projects. One of them was already shared here (the crib duvet covers to regular sheets) and the others are waiting for me to find the time to write appropriate posts.  I still have a small pile of crib linens waiting for me to get down to work and so something with them. Which I would love to find the time for next weekend, but I also have some Easter projects I want to move ahead, so we'll see.

And as I mentioned here before, blogs can get cluttered too. For quite some time I have been thinking about changing the design of my blog, though I still have a lot of drawing board work before I can share anything. But I still made some changes, have you noticed? I now have new social media icons (smaller and better fitting than the previous ones), I've adjusted the width of the lateral column to avoid some overlapping content problems and I intend to slowly update some of the graphics. And I also have a blog button now!

Decluttering my life (both physical and digital) is proving to be a fun exercise, though I still have a lot of work ahead of me. But then, I need something to do for the next 42 weeks of the year, right?

  1. I'm trying to get rid of the clutter in my life, too. It's a never ending struggle to purge oneself of bad habits, but I'm making slow progress and it's better than no progress. Have a good weekend! Hopping over from Crafty Spices Social Weekend Follow!
