10-minute double pocket felt pouch

Hello, and welcome. Today I'm sharing a very quick project - just my favorite kind! - the double pocket felt pouch.

The one I made is small, just 9 x 14 centimeters, but still very useful as a purse organizer.

I started with a 30 x 30 centimeters piece of felt, but in reality you only need about 30 x 24 centimeters. The only additional materials required are one cute button and matching sewing thread (or fabric glue, if you prefer the no-sew version).

Cut the pouch shape using the guidelines below. I'm sharing the measurements I used, but you can easily adjust for a smaller or larger size (focus on the measurements, not the image itself, as it's not drawn to scale)..

Fold both sides in (they will overlap) and then fold the bottom up:

Sew or glue the overlapping felt at the center (it may be useful to secure it with a pin first):

Once that is done, all that is left to do is to sew the button and them cut a slit in the felt for the button hole- the great thing about working with felt is that it doesn't fray, so it's amazingly easy to create button holes.

And there you have it: one cute and easy felt pouch, with two separate pockets for better organization.

Because this was made using only materials I already had at home, it counts towards my destashing efforts this year. See below my other destashing projects so far:

Happy Monday!

  1. Very nice. It would make a nice little clutch when you don't have one to match your outfit. Thank you for sharing.

  2. Super cute! I expect one could do a little embroidery or otherwise bling up the bag if you have more than 10 minutes :) Thanks for sharing with us at Creatively Crafty #ccbg :)
