Smoked Ham Roll

This smoked ham roll is super easy to make and works really well as an appetizer. If you're a bit more talented than me cutting the slices, you will have lovely pinwheel shapes that are perfect for parties too.

And, to be honest, I also like to eat the slices as a main dish, especially at this time of the year, together with some wild rice or steamed vegetables.

Scroll down to find out how I make it:

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of round puff pastry
  • thinly sliced smoked ham (enough to cover the surface of the puff pastry sheet)

Instructions:

Unroll your puff pastry sheet and cover it with the smoked ham slices.

Roll up the puff pastry again and place it in an oven tray (the rounded shape of mine is optional, I just used a small oven tray - though I do like the croissant-like look).

Bake for about 20 minutes, until the puff pastry rises and turns a nice golden color.

Let the roll cool for a few minutes, cut it into slices and serve.

Enjoy, and happy Wednesday!

    1. I've been known to make this for my lunch too. Not a terribly healthy option, but sometimes you just need to go with the flow...
