Just popping in here quickly to show off my latest crochet sweater. Slowly, I've been trying to dedicate more time to crocheting clothes I can actually wear - so instead of using this cotton yarn to make more placemats (of which we already have more than enough at home), I used it to make a sweater.
Ideally, it would have been a long sleeved sweater, but I didn't have enough yarn - and since I bought it a while ago, I couldn't find any more in the same exact same dusty pink shade - so the sleeves end up at my elbows instead of my wrists. Other than that, it turned out pretty well.
I wish I had a pattern to share here with you - but I didn't follow one and I'm nowhere near ready to start writing crochet clothes patterns with all the details and several different sizes.
I more or less used this long sleeved crochet sweater that I made earlier this year as a guideline for measurements. As crochet stitches go, I just alternated a row of half double crochets with a row of cross-stitch half double crochets.
I wanted a higher neckline, and it took me a while to get it right (mostly by trial an error), but in the end I'm happy with the result.
I still have three balls of a similar crochet yarn in soft brown, which I now intend to use to crochet a lightweight cardigan. Let's see how it works, and hopefully I'll be able to share it here soon too.
