These little tulle bags are perfect to wrap up small gifts, chocolate boxes and overall any kind of stocking stuffers. They are also very quick and easy to make.
What you need:
- Rectangles of tulle that, when folded in half on the shorter side, are slightly larger than the finished size of the bag you want to make (approximately one extra centimeter on the longer sides and two extra centimeters on the shorter sides).
- Bits of ribbon (at least twice as long as the double of the width of the shorter sides of your rectangle
- Wooden beads (optional)
- Matching sewing thread
To make your tulle gift bags, start by folding each of the shorter sides of the rectangle inwards twice. Pin in place or use the iron to crease the folds, and then sew:
Now join both top edges (right sides together) and sew the sides from the seam you added at the top down to the bottom of the bag. Make sure you don't close the openings of the casings you created with the initial top seams. Turn inside out and you have your bag almost ready to be used:
Finally, insert one or two pieces of ribbon through the top casings and tie a knot joining the edges of the ribbon together. Add wooden beads to the knots, if you want:
And that's it! It really couldn't be any easier. Now make a whole batch of these reusable tulle gift bags and avoid buying wrapping paper for the holidays this year!
