Hello, and welcome! Today I'm sharing here a quick weekend project:
This zipper was made for a friend that needed specific measurements and I knew would enjoy a somewhat "Gothic look". I used my basic zipper pouch tutorial, but created the panels by sewing the moths (from leftover fabric from this gift bag) over the exterior fabric of the pouch with a zigzag stitch.
The only other difference vs. my original tutorial was the top stitch next to the zipper. I don't always top stitch my zippers, but since the fabric has this waffle effect I wanted to make sure it would not get stuck in the zipper.
I used the same fabric for the lining (minus the moths):
And here is the finished pouch (both sides):
Even though I had to sew the moths panels over the rest of the fabric, overall this was a pretty quick project and made exclusively with materials I already had in my stash.
Thank you for stopping by, and have a wonderful week,
