Not Afraid of Color - 4 Bright and Happy Living Room Ideas

Hello, and welcome!

While a lot of people (me included) tend to prefer neutral tones for home decor, the truth is that sometimes bolder touches really make an impact - and look great.

Not Afraid of Color - 4 Bright and Happy Living Room Ideas

So today I'm sharing here a few very colorful living rooms to inspire you.

You can add color to your living room in two ways - adding color to the structure itself (ie. the walls, window frames and, on a trend I've been seeing lately, even the ceiling), or with carefully selected furniture and decor pieces (keeping more neutral tones on the walls and adding the color with the accessories). The first alternative is usually more expensive and harder to change or update if eventually you get tired of all the color and want a change. Th second alternative is quicker and easier (and, in theory, less expensive), but sometimes people choose it just because they are afraid of making more extensive changes to their home.

The living room below is my favorite of the four I'm bringing you today, because I love the contrast of the gray walls with the splashes of color from the furniture, the pillows and the wall art. I'm not entirely sure about the ceiling (my personal preference) and the abstract wall art, but I do like the concept.

This one is similar, but with a strong accent wall:

I really like the brighter tones and the color combinations in the image below (though I'll probably never be bold enough to add those colors to my walls):

This last one somehow feels more classical than modern to me, but it's just as colorful as the others. I love the rug and the matching pillows.

No matter which alternative you prefer - going all out or just adding a few touches of color here and there - the most important thing to remember is that your living room (just like the rest of your home) should be bright and happy and, more importantly, a reflecting of YOU.
